the name came from a comic spotted whilst rummaging in a secondhand book shop.
thought it'd make a good name for a gig listing site.
strange music?
there are loads of great promoters in nottingham, leeds, sheffield and the surrounding areas with a great history of bringing lesser known and underground bands, performers, ensembles and unclassifiables to their respective towns.
this site aims to serve them and their fans.
can i get my gigs listed?
probably, well sort of.
firstly, promoters can put them on themselves. just sign up
secondly, we're not snobbish but we do aim to serve a particular community so not everyone will get an account i'm afraid. we're interested in underground weirdo stuff but more than that we're interested in, well anything interesting really so don't be a stranger.
i want one!
if you want to set up your own, similar, site you can download the source code (soon) and make it yourself.
it runs on django and i found jeff croft to be most useful for django resources.

final disclaimer - i'm not a programmer so the code is probably ugly and could have been done differently/better. that also means i probably won't be able to help you with django questions and the whole thing is totally unsupported. you've been warned.
